5 Fast Facts: Giavanna Catapano on Runways, G by Gigi, and Owning Her Superpower

We track trajectory. Ten-year-old powerhouse Giavanna Catapano, from New York, isn’t just walking runways; she’s opening and closing them. With a resume that already includes New York Fashion Week, Diversity Fashion Week, Atlantic City Fashion Week, New York Kid’s Runway, and the Supermodels Unlimited Soirée, her print portfolio is equally heavy. She has graced the pages of Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Donna, and Gmaro, and notably shot a collaboration with LaBelle featuring Givenchy. She leverages this visibility as a rising influencer appearing alongside brands such as TopView NYC, The Sugar Factory, and Meteer Robot.

She’s also building equity. Giavanna is currently developing her own fashion label, G by Gigi, debuting this year in collaboration with Supermodels Unlimited, alongside her custom footwear collection on AliveShoes.com. Her competitive drive extends beyond design—she is a former SU Little Miss New York, Little Miss Supermodel, and Sunburst Pageant division winner who balances her career with competitive field hockey and elite performance arts, having performed in The Nutcracker alongside New York City Ballet professionals and took a master class at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center.

Most importantly, she’s turning obstacles into armor. Recently diagnosed with two autoimmune diseases, Giavanna has become a fierce advocate for Vitiligo and Alopecia awareness, aiming to drive research for a cure. With her sights set on future campaigns for Marc Jacobs, Burberry, and Teen Vogue, she returns to New York Fashion Week this February—not just to walk, but to step into her new role as a host.

My gosh, I’m so excited to walk for House of Barretti again because it’s so much fun and it’s going to be so cute this time. It’s a ski bunny theme. And even before I wanted to become a model, I’ve always looked up to Isabella Barrett. Once I was cast, I was just so happy and excited. It was so much fun and they were all extremely nice. I’m just so grateful I get to walk for them again.

For Rhinestone Society, I’m really excited and just honored that I’m not only able to walk for them, but I’m also gonna be their Rhinestone Dreams Host for their first event that they’re holding. And they’re a non-profit to help people like me accomplish their dreams.

Uh, uh, uh! I have my lips sealed. But what I can tell you, is you’ll have a lot of fun.

Life is too short. Don’t worry. Just love yourself, ’cause I believe that God gave me this for a reason so I could help others and work with the foundations to help find a cure for both. If you don’t love yourself, then you can’t love others.

Her exclusive fashion label, G by Gigi, drops this year.

G by Gigi… it hasn’t come out yet, but it will be coming out sometime this year. So, um, I will be under Supermodels Unlimited when it does come out, and then I’ll be doing some more stuff later on. And I do currently have the shoes that I designed.

She is a total “Busy Body” (and Hello Kitty Obsessive).

I’m a busy body. I’m always doing something. I do field hockey, ballet, acting… and I am a Hello Kitty fanatic. And Kuromi fanatic. Both. Um, I have my whole room decked out in Hello Kitty and Kuromi and it’s just like… whoa. And I love animals. I help with the SPCA and wildlife rehab.
