Ella Greenwood is a teen British actress we are excited about. In addition to being cast in the new British series Moriarty, she has just been offered a place as a member of the prestigious National Youth Theatre of Great Britain whose alumni include Daniel Craig, Helen Mirren and Colin Firth. She has also performed in London’s West End and has narrated books for Audible/Amazon.
Let’s find out more in our 5 Fast Facts about Ella Greenwood!
She likes history.
I love my job a lot. A recent experience that I loved was during the shoot of my latest film Before Nightfall, we shot some of the scenes at a historical village outside of Portsmouth and on one of the days I was working with an adorable dog as well as some extras, a few of which worked at the village and told me loads of historical facts about the village so it was such a fun day!
She stans Stan.
I’ve been fortunate enough to have many encounters with great actors but one of my favourite star struck moments was when I met Stanley Tucci. The Hunger Games is one of my favourite movies and I had literally just binged watched the series and then the next day I saw Stanley at an event. I was way too starstruck to go and say hi but I bumped into him on the stairs later. I completely blanked that it was him and just smiled casually and said hello. It wasn’t until a few seconds later that I realised who it was! I’m such a fan of his work and he’s done some amazing films!
There’s one thing that happened she’d rather forget.
An embarrassing moment was when I was performing at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End and my bracelet got caught on my costume as I was going to move my arm. I couldn’t get it to release so I was just sort of flapping my arm in a weird fish like movement. Luckily it eventually got unstuck but I’ve had many cringe attacks about it since then!
She might come in handy if you are cursed with an ancient Nordic spell.
One thing people would be surprised to know about me is that I can read Ancient Nordic Runes. I have some family in Norway and so when I was younger I tried to teach myself Norwegian but it was quite difficult so I gave up and taught myself Runes instead! I haven’t had much use for the skill yet but it may come in handy one day, you never know!
Her guilty pleasure involves little creatures with epic hair.
My guilty pleasure has got to be the Trolls movie! I love all the colours and happy music and I’m a voice actor too so it would be my dream to be in a movie like Trolls! My best friend and I are always singing along to the soundtrack and I actually got to meet Poppy and Branch at Universal Studios when I was in LA last week! I guess I was a bit starstruck then as well!
I just spent my birthday in Disneyland California so here’s a selfie of me and my birthday ears!
