Isabella Ferrando (Izzie), a 17-year-old teenager from New York City, is making a significant impact by raising funds for students in Guatemala through her custom beaded jewelry line.

Born in Guatemala and raised in New York City, Izzie has launched a fundraising initiative close to her heart. Inspired by her roots and driven by a desire to give back, she has created made-to-order custom beaded bracelets to support students in Guatemala.

“I wanted to concentrate my efforts where I can make a personal difference,” explained Izzie, balancing her busy life with school, extracurricular activities, and family commitments. “Guatemala holds a special place in my heart, and I felt compelled to contribute to a cause that means so much to me.”

Personal, pretty, and vibrant, an idea was born to create and sell custom beaded bracelets. Each bracelet is a reflection of Guatemala’s vibrant culture, reminiscent of its colorful markets, textiles, and landscapes. Proceeds from the sales benefit Common Hope, a highly regarded, 4-Star charity focused on promoting hope and opportunity in Guatemala through education, healthcare, housing, and family development.

“The response has been incredible,” shared Izzie. “The designs are versatile and appeal to people of all ages. With each sale, we are making a tangible difference in the lives of students who lack access to so many opportunities that I currently have”

Through social media, email campaigns, local markets, and brand collaborations, Izzie has raised over $5500 for Common Hope. This effort comes at a crucial time as Guatemala’s education system faces significant challenges with minimal government funding allocated to education.

“Izzie’s initiative is not just about selling bracelets; it’s about breaking barriers to education,” said a spokesperson from Common Hope. “Her dedication is inspiring, and the impact she’s making is real and profound.”

Izzie plans to visit Guatemala to witness firsthand the impact of her fundraising efforts and intends to continue her initiative through her senior year as she prepares for college.
